Privacy Policy
We will offer people who come to live in our home the following privacy rights and protections:
- Private, single accommodation furnished, decorated and equipped to a high standard which they may use and enjoy as and when they wish
- The opportunity to bring their own items of furniture, if they so desire, to add their own touches to their rooms
- Locked cabinets for the security of valuables with a key which they themselves keep
- The right to take charge of their personal possessions, which will always remain their property
- The right to entertain guests in private in their accommodation as they wish
- The right to discuss their needs in confidence and in private with whoever they choose
- Facilities to make and receive phone calls in private and receive mail, including emails, in private, unless there are specific legal reasons to prevent this — if this is the case, staff will explain the reasons and record them
- The right to expect confidentiality in all matters and we will always seek their permission if we need to share their personal information
- The right to enjoy as much privacy as they need and want
- The right to wear only their own clothes and clothing of their own choice
- The means by which clothing and personal possessions are kept private, including being clearly marked and properly cared for
Your privacy is paramount. We treat all personal information with the utmost care and confidentiality. We will never share your information without your explicit consent, except where legally required to do so.
Dignity Policy
Kingsley Cottage is committed to treating every resident with the highest level of dignity and respect. This care home will:
- Always respect a person's sense of dignity when helping them to dress, wash, bathe or shower, eat and drink, manage their continence needs and when attending to all other personal care needs
- Address a person in the manner that they choose, including preferred gender and means of communication
- Respect the individual and their right to their own views and to follow their preferred lifestyle
- Consult people on any matter or activity which may impinge upon their life within the home in any way and respect their wishes
- Respect people's rights to be full members of their local community and community groups with whom or which they identify
- Always respect people's culture, religious practices and beliefs

Our staff are trained to provide care with compassion, sensitivity, and respect, ensuring that every person is treated as the valued member of our community that they are.
Your Rights & Responsibilities
We respect your fundamental rights and are committed to upholding them at all times. If you have any concerns about how your privacy or dignity is being respected, please speak to any member of our staff or contact our management team immediately. We have a formal complaints procedure in place to ensure that all concerns are addressed promptly and fairly.
